Quick answers for families interested in Alhambra FC.
What ages can join Alhambra FC?
We currently offer teams from U-5 through U-15. Players are placed by birth year; the month they were born does not affect their age division. Use our age group guide for the current birth-year breakdown.
Does my child need soccer experience to join?
No. Beginners are welcome. We work with players at different experience levels and help them learn the game, improve their skills, and build confidence.
Can both boys and girls join?
Yes. Alhambra FC welcomes both boys and girls, regardless of experience level.
How often do teams practice?
U-5 through U-11 normally practice Tuesday through Thursday. U-13 and U-15 normally practice Wednesday and Thursday. Practices are usually between about 5:30 PM and 7:45 PM depending on the age group.
Where do teams practice?
Practices are held in the El Sereno area. Exact practice locations, times, and what players should bring are shared directly with families in the practice message.
When and where are games played?
Our teams play league games only on Sundays through LA Alhambra Soccer League. U-5 and U-7 play at Bitely Elementary in Rosemead. U-9 and U-11 games may be at Bitely Elementary, Rio de Los Angeles State Park, or El Sereno Park. U-13 and U-15 may also play at Guardia Park, Miguel Contreras High School, and Franklin High School. Tournaments outside regular league play are very rare.
How much does it cost?
Practice only is $40 per month, games/referee fees only are $40 per month, or practice + games are bundled for $60 per month.
What does the uniform include?
Uniforms are $40 and include a jersey with the player's name and number, shorts, and socks. Players usually receive a new uniform each season.
Can my child try a practice before joining?
Yes. We strongly encourage new players to attend a practice before officially joining so the player and parents can see if they enjoy the environment.
Do players have to attend every practice?
No, every practice is not required. Regular attendance is highly encouraged because it benefits player development and helps players stay connected with the team.
Can siblings join?
Yes. Siblings are welcome to join, and each player's age division is based on their birth year.
Can my child join in the middle of a season?
Yes. New players can join Alhambra FC at any time. The league has a registration cutoff date, but players can still practice with us after the deadline and prepare for the next season.
How long is each season?
Each season includes 15 regular-season games, followed by 3–4 playoff games for teams that qualify.
How do we get started?
Contact a coach and tell us your child's birth year. We'll share the practice information so your child can come out and try a practice before deciding to officially join.
